How many notes come to bank 500 and 1000

In its annual report released on Wednesday, the Reserve Bank of India said that in November 2016, the notes of 500 and 1,000 rupees, which were banned in circulation, almost 99.3 percent have returned to the bank. Prior to 8 November 2016, notes of 500 and 1000 rupees were in circulation of Rs 15.41 lakh crore out of which 15.31 lakh crore have come back in the bank.

The report says that the SBN, which came to banks, was verified through a complex speedy currency verification and processing system and after that counting they were destroyed. SBN stands for closed notes of 500 and 1000 rupees. The Reserve Bank has said that the work of counting the SBN has been completed. A total of 15,310.73 billion SBNs have come back to the banks.
