Three Divorce Bill Hanging Until Budget Session, Ordinance Can Continue

After the suspension of the Rajya Sabha indefinitely on Friday, the fate of the controversial three Divorce Bill has now gone into the account of the budget session of the Parliament. The budget session starts from January 29. Government sources denied that the Ordinance may be issued to the bill stuck in the Rajya Sabha.

This bill passed in the Lok Sabha could not be passed in the Rajya Sabha. The opposition in the Rajya Sabha demanded the bill to send the bill to the Select Committee for investigation.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar said that he hopes that the Congress and other opposition parties will agree to pass the Muslim Women (Protection of Marriage Rights Protection) Bill -2017. In the bill, there is a provision of three years for a Muslim woman who divorces her marriage by saying three divorces to the wife at the same time.

When asked about the possibility of getting an ordinance in the event of non-passage of the bill, Ananth Kumar did not give a clear reply, saying that the dates of the budget session have already been announced. He said that we hope that Congress will understand the public sentiment on this issue, reconsider its stand and pass it in the budget session. There is anger in people on this issue.
The minister criticized the Congress for not passing the bill. He said that he is against the empowerment of Muslim women in India. Many Muslim organizations have opposed this bill. Kumar said that the government is committed to passing this bill.
Kumar said that the intention of the Modi government is absolutely clear. We want equality and respect for Muslim women while Congress is against it. He has shown his double standards.
