In limited-overs cricket, especially in one-day cricket, Sachin has been seen during his career at most of the time in the number ten jersey. Sachin liked this number. He also wore a jersey of 33 and 99 in ODIs, but he gave more importance to the number ten jersey. Now, considering his contribution to cricket, the BCCI has decided to retire Tendulkar's number ten jersey. No Indian cricketer will be able to wear this number jersey.


The move to write the number behind the players' jersey was started after the ICC Cricket World Cup in England in 1999. After this it was mandatory to wear a jersey number for the players. After retiring from international cricket in 2013, Tendulkar's jersey was not even noticed. Sachin last wearing this jersey in March 2012.
